February 18th 1944 - June 13th 2005 (Aged 61)

Bob was born in Grant County to the late Harold E. McVay and Relna May (Working) McVay and was a life resident of Grant County. He was a 1962 graduate of Van Buren High School. He served in the Indiana National Guard for six years. He married Cindy J. Dorhrman-Masterson on Oct. 4, 1997. She survives.

Bob always was interested in Elvis and had his first performance as Elvis at his 25-year class reunion, beginning his 18-year career as an Elvis impersonator. Realizing the gift God had given him in his voice, Bob loved sharing it with others. He performed as Elvis on stages from Grant County fairs to Las Vegas and beyond.

Bob routinely participated in national Elvis impersonator contests and typically placed within the top 10 percent. In 1992, he won the Chicago competition. He even earned the "Spirit of Elvis" Award at the Elvis World Wide Competition in Memphis in 2001.

Bob admired Elvis greatly, especially for his voice, and enjoyed the opportunity to portray him. However, at every performance, Bob reminded the audience that he hoped they saw some Elvis in him, but in reality, he was happy to be just Bob McVay.
